Nightingales - Y4

Hello and welcome to the Year 4 class webpage.

Welcome back to school. We hope you have all had a wonderful, rest-filled Easter Holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back into the classroom for another term of learning.

PE is on Wednesdays and Thursdays this term; please ensure PE uniform is worn to school and that all uniforms are clearly labelled with names. As the days last longer and the weather warms up, we plan to take our learning outside as much as possible. However, our weather is unpredictable, so wearing suncream and a hat and bringing a coat daily is important as we will go outside in most weathers.

Reading is something we are passionate about and is of the utmost importance; it underpins so many areas and is vital for children to make good progress across the whole curriculum. For this reason, your support, encouragement, and enthusiasm are incredibly valuable. Try to listen to your child read at least five times a week, and discuss their books with them. We read together regularly in class - why not ask them about their guided reading or the class story? Or encourage them to recommend something you've enjoyed together at home.

Don't forget to reply to your invitation to link with your child's Dojo page, where you can see all the rewards your child has earned throughout the week. Please also don't forget to check the links for the homework, key dates and curriculum information for the Summer Term shown on this webpage.

If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to ask me for a chat before or after school. I look forward to working closely with each of you for the final term.

Mr Booth and Mrs Turner
